Marché Catering offers a range of services — from casual picnic fare and party platters to elegant large-scale events, with private dinner parties, business lunches and gallery receptions in between. We’ve grown as our company has grown, and are proud to be part of the Marché family of businesses. Each part of Marché has a slightly different style — catering covers all of them — and they all adhere to our core philosophy:
Marché is about celebrating life and the bountiful Pacific Northwest with locally grown and gathered food, prepared with care and served in a lively and elegant atmosphere.
We take our name from the French word for market — a word that describes not only our location in Eugene’s bustling 5th Street Market, but also our philosophy of cooking. The menu is based on the foods you would find at a farmers market — fresh, seasonal, and regional. We are committed to using only those ingredients that are at their best, so our menu evolves as we move through the seasons of the year. Our technique is French-based — intensely flavored and simply but beautifully presented.

LOGISTICS & POLICIES
Where do we start? The best way to begin the conversation about your event is to fill out a Catering Inquiry Form. Our staff will be in touch immediately so we can plan your event together. Below, you’ll find some notes that address each of the many parts of planning an event.
Menu
Our food is organically grown by local farmers, and evolves to reflect the best of the region and season. Even within the four seasons of the year, ingredients vary in availability and quality, and we’ll work closely with you to develop a menu that takes advantage of the products that are at their very best on the date of your event. We do our absolute best to adhere to menu selections, but occasionally we may need to make slight adjustments due to ingredient availability. To see examples of our catering menus, click here.
Wine, Beverages & Bar
Our wine director works closely with our catering team to ensure that appropriate wines are available to suit a variety of palates and budgets. Because of our collaboration with Provisions and the restaurant, we are able to offer some special selections and hard-to-find wines in a catering environment. If you’d like our staff to manage wine service (chilling, opening, pouring and cleanup) for wine that’s donated or brought in from elsewhere, we can do so for a minimal corkage fee of $3.00 per bottle.
Marche Catering bartenders are fully licensed, insured and trained to serve a range of classic cocktails. Our catering director can work with you to develop special seasonal or theme cocktails if you wish. If you prefer to have a no-host bar, we’re happy to staff, stock and operate a complete well or premium bar. Depending on the scope of the event, there may be a minimal set-up fee or spending minimum.
Staff & Gratuity
For some events, it is possible to simply deliver platters—but most require some on-site time for chefs and service staff. Both chefs and servers are there to make sure that your event goes smoothly, that the food is delicious and well presented and that your guests feel taken care of. At the same time, on-site staff will do an efficient, professional job allowing you enjoy the party with your guests.
Our fully licensed and highly professional staff—including bartenders—can be provided for $17.00 per person per hour. Larger events will also have an event captain to supervise the staff and act as a liason with guests and event planners, for $20.00 per hour.
We have a service charge of 18% of the food and beverage total, which goes to support the efforts of Marché’s planning, kitchen and service staff.
Equipment & Rentals
We can arrange for any necessary rentals or decorations. While we don’t carry an inventory of china, flatware, glassware or linen for catering, we have found that it’s better to tailor the equipment rentals to each individual event, both for cost and aesthetic reasons. We do not mark up rental costs in any way, and use our long experience and expertise to guide equipment decisions.We’ll work directly with you and the appropriate rental company to create a look that’s just right for your event, while confirming that the necessary pieces are all in place.
Our aesthetic is clean and simple, with white linen and china and an emphasis on fresh, seasonal food and decor. We decorate with beautiful seasonal herbs and produce, artisan breads, discreet printed menus and fresh flowers. If you have a different vision for your event, we’re happy to help you realize it.
If your event requires elaborate decor, audio-visual equipment or logistical support, we’d be happy to connect you with vendors and event planners. Our team has a wealth of experience planning and executing a range of events, and are happy to share that knowledge with you to create a fabulous event. Guarantees & Payment
Once a menu and logistical plan is in place, we’ll provide a simple agreement to act as event confimartion. The number of guests must be confirmed 5 days prior to the event. We will charge for the confirmed number of guests or the actual number of guests, whichever is greater.
Payment is due on the business day following the event. A 25% deposit on estimated food and beverage costs is required at the time of event confirmation.
